Some flaws of BPITrade based on actual experience:
ReplyDelete- Portfolio display is a day delayed
- Almost impossible to track stock purchase history. If I remember correctly the maximum history is up to 60 days max
- Sometimes the online stock order facility is down. In this case one has to call them through phone to place the order. The guys at BPITrade are very accommodating though.
- Flawed alert system. Delayed sending of email and SMS messages which in my opinion defeats the purpose of having an alert system.
- No auto refresh for current stock transactions. One has to click on the refresh button every few seconds to have the display updated.
- Transferring funds to/from the settlement account take some time to take effect. I think around 2 to 3 days.
- Minimal stock trading research facility. No historical graphs and charts.
The nice thing about BPI Trade though is the convenience of transferring funds to/from the settlement account which you can all do online. Another alternative to BPI Trade is Citiseconline however since they are not a banking institution one has to send checks or what not to fund the account which is a big hassle.
Thanks a lot for the comments CLIM. I would agree with you about the limitations and the challenges you have pointed that one who is using the BPI Trade platform will definitely experience as one becomes more and more involved with online stock trading.
ReplyDeleteThese limitations, however, are offset by the convenience of online transactions afforded by bpiexpressonline.com for clients of BPI Trade, which you have also clearly pointed out.
If I may add, BPI Trade maintaining balance is currently just Php500.00. This is an advantage for the beginning online stock trader with limited funds.
